GMRS nodes explained
A node is a small radio station on the internet. A radio, a little computer and a sound adapter make a link that can reach other nodes anywhere, so a local signal can travel far beyond your own antenna.
- Simplex nodes cover your neighborhood on one channel, with no repeater needed.
- Each node has its own number, and nodes connect to each other with a short command.
- GMRS frequencies need an FCC GMRS license. FRS-only radios do not, but cannot be linked.
